Mrs Sophie Good, Head Teacher, Abbeys Primary School
“I am writing to express my thanks at the outstanding level of customer care and assistance I recently received from the staff at Schools Advisory Service.
After being admitted to my local NHS hospital following an attack of acute pain, I was told I needed an endoscopy procedure to remove a gallstone lodged in my bile duct. However, the wait would be six to eight weeks for this, even though eating was very difficult, and I was at risk of developing the serious condition of pancreatitis if the stone moved any further.
Imagine my relief when I learned that Schools Advisory Service could cover the cost of the procedure I needed. Claire Chambers from the Claims Department worked quickly and efficiently on my claim. This was evidenced by the fact that the surgeon had pencilled in two dates, one at short notice and one a week later, for the procedure to be carried out. Due to Claire’s effective and speedy liaison with all healthcare professionals involved, I was admitted to my local private clinic on the earlier of the two dates. I felt that throughout the process Claire was determined to do her very best for me, and this was extremely reassuring.
As the Headteacher of my primary school I am responsible for a total of over 300 pupils and staff, so good health and wellbeing is essential to me on a professional as well as a personal level. An extended absence of a key member of staff due to ill-health could have a significant impact on the effective running of a school. It can even affect levels of parental confidence in the school’s ability to operate to its usual standards. Healthcare insurance of the high quality offered by Schools Advisory Service will therefore remain a priority in my school’s budget going forward.”
