Many thanks to you and your staff for the excellent event we attended on Friday at St. James' Park. The
speakers were all excellent; being both informative and entertaining. It's always quite refreshing to hear
independent viewpoints rather than the 'official message' school leaders generally receive.

Just to give some feedback after our health screening on Wed this week.
All staff found it a to be well conducted and beneficial. - eg of staff quotes "an unexpected perk",
"it's good to get reassurance about your health".
Everyone found Mandy (Head of Nursing at SAS) very professional with a lovely manner which put them at their
ease. I have thanked her personally for the day.
Thanks again

To whom it may concern
Our school has employed the services of SAS for staff absence cover for the past 3 years. The company has
supported school during long term staff sickness and a number of maternity leaves. The company has always
met our claims efficiently and their flexible policy approach has enabled school to manage the absence
of staff member effectively.
Our school has utilised the company’s additional benefits which contribute towards staff wellbeing. These
have included all staff having the opportunity to participate in a health check. This was an aspect of the
policy which has proven very popular amongst the staff in school.
Yours sincerely
Mrs Susan Harrison
I wanted to write and thank the staff at Schools Advisory Service for processing my claim so speedily.
You were all so helpful. My surgery seems to have been successful and I hope to return to work shortly.

On initial enquiry I was told the proposed operation was too soon (1 week). However, all parts were
completed within 2 days and authorisation was prompt, many thanks.

I have a member of staff who is genuinely physically ill with several diagnoses which have led to emotional and
stressful debility.
Through Schools Advisory Service I was able to offer her stress counselling via a highly trained counsellor who
visited her initially in her own home and is following this personal appointment through with six one to one weekly
sessions via a local therapist.
My member of staff feels well supported within this framework and is positively thriving. Without this support we
could possibly be looking at a prolonged absence while this lady attempts to find help via her GP.

As you can't remove the financial risk of sickness absence totally, SAS certainly help to manage the risk. As a special
school we appreciate the flexibility to insure all posts, setting different remuneration rates, excess periods and
identifying which staff to cover on the policy.
The efficient, electronic service has streamlined the claims process and in year amendments tremendously; however
knowledgeable, friendly, professional staff are only a phone call away should you prefer the more human touch.
Last, but not least, the competitive premium rates ensure value for money, a key factor for anyone but especially
those managing school budgets.

Dear SAS
Please accept my sincere thanks for the recent medical procedure I was able to access through SAS.
I was diagnosed with developing cataracts in both eyes following a routine eye appointment.
Having consulted the Well being and medical details contained within our policy I made a call to SAS who facilitated
surgery at a local hospital. My eye problems were sorted in record time meaning I did not need time off work and
long term this problem will not reoccur.
Thanks SAS for a great life changing service!
I have been associated with Schools Advisory Service (SAS) for a number of years and find the services they offer to be
excellent value for money, well supported and very professionally managed.
We did experience a 'significant blip' with the service two years ago but with an honest and open dialogue, between both
parties, the issues were resolved amicably.
Although I have not had to follow through on a medical procedure yet, the advice and speed of delivery on what to do has
been excellent.

The Regina Coeli School
Shiremoor Primary School has used SAS as our service provider for staff absence since March 2007. During
that time we found them to be exceptional in the service they deliver to us.
Most recently I fractured my ankle and was able to claim up to 5 chiropractic visits for 'ankle rehabilitation'.
I have been particularly impressed by the speed at which all of our claims are dealt with and most importantly
there is always a person at the end of the phone to assist with any queries we may have.
The principle behind the SAS approach is to support staff in returning to work as soon as possible which is
of great importance in ensuring the school runs effectively at all levels and in particular in the classrooms
so that children are not penalised by staff absence.
We have dealt with several insurance companies over the years none of which have provided a service of such
high quality.
I am an NLE (National Leader of Education) and have been Acting Headteacher of another school in North Tyneside
for over a year. The school has now moved to SAS following prolonged and complicated absence insurance claims
with another company.
Shiremoor Primary School is a very successful school and I would not make this recommendation unless I could
do so without reservation as in my opinion the service provided by SAS is outstanding on every level.
