People Management

This service area offers support and guidance to schools in most aspects of people management. If an area is not listed below please contact the call centre for further advice. The aspects of this service include:-

• Assistance with determining the staffing structure of the
  school.
• Pay and Reward related activities including grading of
  posts and employee pay grade appeals.
• Advice and guidance on how to comply with Health and
  Safety legislation and the Council’s Health and Safety
  policies and practices.
• Application of policies and procedures on matters such as
  discipline; capability; grievance; dignity at work; and
  performance management.
• Guidance on complying with employment legislation
  relating to diversity and equality.
• Support in the implementation of staffing reductions and
  re-organisations.
• Absence management if this is not included as part of the
  school’s sickness absence insurance package.
